Your Stay

Rooms are spacious and contemporary, with warm neutral tones, natural materials and subtle African influences creating a comfortable place to relax after time spent on safari. Each is well equipped for a comfortable stay, with air-conditioning, minibar and tea and coffee-making facilities among the thoughtful amenities.

At the heart of the lodge, the outdoor swimming pool is surrounded by loungers and shaded areas, with the River Bar close at hand for drinks and refreshments. Overlooking the bushveld and a nearby watering hole, the pool is a particularly inviting spot to unwind, with elephants occasionally wandering into view.

The River Lodge Wellness Centre offers another place to relax between game drives. Set amid the bushveld, it features treatment rooms and a lap pool with a selection of spa and hydrotherapy treatments, all surrounded by views of the reserve.

Dining Options

Dining at Kapama River Lodge takes place in a variety of settings, each making the most of its bushveld surroundings. Xitsumbeni serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main dining area, where floor-to-ceiling glass doors can be opened to the landscape. Lounge areas, fireplaces and two open-air firepits add to the relaxed atmosphere, while the lodge's wine cellar houses an extensive collection of South African wines.

A highlight is an evening at the open-air River Lodge Boma. Gathered around roaring fires beneath the stars, guests can sample South African flavours prepared using traditional open-fire cooking techniques.
